Florida Water Festival

 Milwee SECME students were at the Florida Water Festival which was sponsored by the Florida Water association.  SECME students sponsored a "Water Olympics" booth and  helped host the water coloring booth.  The our students took 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the water filtration competition and the 7th grade PLTW students took 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the poster competition! Congratulations!

Milwee Global Cardboard Challenge!

Here is a 2 minute glimpse at our amazing cardboard challenge 2 day extravaganza!

 
Students engaged in the design process as they planned, problem-solved and collaborated to create their cardboard creations.
The cardboard challenge is a global movement inspired by Caine's Arcade.
A special thank you to the Mattress Firm for supplying us with enough cardboard to last a week...or longer!

SECME Welcomes Engineer Guest Speaker

SECME welcomed guest speaker, Mr. Roberto Gonzalez. He came in to speak to the SECME students about the AWWA (American Water Works Association) Model water tower contest.

Great Plains Games!

Milwee's 8th Grade History Students participated in Great Plains Games on September 9th and 10th! The games included travois (a sled formerly used by the Plains Indians of North America, consisting of two poles joined by a frame) racing and teepee building.

We are very excited about Club Time at Milwee Middle School! Due to the new block scheduling, the faculty and staff have been able to incorporate time for students to explore their interests in greater depth.

There are about 40 clubs, in all, ranging from Art/Anime to Yearbook!
Students look forward to spending time with other students and teachers who share similar interests.

We are starting to get pictures and feedback on fun things happening around campus, as we wrap up our second week of club..
